Clinical study of ascorbic acid and EBV infection showed the reduction in viral load levels over time during IVC therapy that is consistent with in vitro studies showing that millimolar levels of ascorbate hinder viral infection and replication in vitro. Most of us will test positive for it by the time we’re adults because most children catch or are exposed to it and will then develop antibodies to it. C., Phillips, D. Spontaneous releases of IL-6 and TNF-alpha were found reduced after infection by HHV-6 and EBV, respectively. HSV DNA and HSVI, II protein expression were found in 52 (31.7%) of the 164 tumors; EBV EBER and LMP-1 proteins were identified in only 10 (6.1%) carcinoma specimens by in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry. Categorical data was analyzed by Fisher’s exact test.

Our results confirm the involvement of HSV and EBV in esophageal carcinomas and the relationship between HSV and EBV infection and esophageal carcinoma cell differentiation with lymphocyte infiltration in the tumor stroma. However, the two herpes viruses, HSV and EBV, particularly the human HSV may be one of the etiological factors in development of this malignancy among the high-incidence population of Shantou China.
