Hi Primavera and RLG, Prima: I can vouch for leg symptoms related to HSV because every day at some point the following areas burn for their allotted shifts — shins (they like to burn in the morning and at bedtime), upper thighs (they’re more random, but they burn like crazy when I’m having a buttcheek outbreak), my feet will burn if I spend too long on the stair climber. I also developed numbness from the pubic bone all the way under to the tailbone (no genital sensation). Also, because the female urethra is close to the vagina, sexually transmitted infections, such as herpes, gonorrhea and chlamydia, can cause urethritis. Frustrating! Said infected 35 years ago, never tested, 2 weeks later my 1st symptoms, burning urethra 4 days followed in the next month burning top of thighs, stomach, tailbone & lower left lip. When I thought i had chlamydia, I had soreness in my abdominals and lower back but went away after i found out i wasnt positive for the std. I would never have a relationship with somebody without telling them, but I would have sex with somebody with protection without telling them that they could still get pregnant.

I had all stds ran and hormone test everything neg hormones a little low but still within normal range(Im in my 40s) I still am experincing the burning not always in the same area no lesions(I look and so has my Dr) I had some Valtrex for Cold sore I had never taken I took 2 bid 10 days Didnt really help. You will need to keep a warm, wet heat applied to the area (not dry heat like a heating pad, but wet heat like a washcloth) at least 5 times a day for 15 minutes a piece. On the origin of these painful intercostal neuralgia may be viral or traumatic nature. Good luck to all of you with our shared pain.
